itinerary
DAY 1 – Santa Marta | Indigenous Community | Brava Beach
-
You will depart from Santa Marta at 8:30 am in a transfer of approximately 40 minutes to the Calabazo sector, where your adventure will begin and you will meet your local indigenous guide.
-
You'll begin a 5 km uphill hike. Around 10:00 am, you'll reach the first rest stop, La Cima, where you'll meet a family of artisans dedicated to rescuing and reintegrating wild animals using ancestral practices. They also create handmade clay and pottery crafts.
-
After this stop, you will walk approximately 20 minutes further to the indigenous community of Tayku, a Kogui village that protects the sacred territory of Pueblito, located in the Tayrona mountains. Here you will learn about their culture, traditions, and worldview, and enjoy a delicious traditional lunch within the community.
-
Continuing along the trail, you will officially enter the protected area of Tayrona National Natural Park. During the hike, you will be able to observe local and migratory birds, native trees, and wild flora.
-
In the afternoon you will arrive at Teyumakke (Playa Brava), where you will have time to enjoy the sea, the sunset, and the tranquility of the place. Weather permitting, you can visit a waterfall with a natural pool.
-
In the evening you will enjoy dinner and relax in a hammock with a mosquito net, listening to the sound of the sea.
DAY 2 – Playa Brava | Cabo San Juan | El Zaino
-
You'll wake up to the sound of the waves and the sunrise at Playa Brava. After a traditional breakfast, you'll begin the second leg of your adventure to Cabo San Juan.
-
You'll hike through tropical forest and along natural streams while observing local flora and fauna. After the climb, you'll reach a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the park's most iconic beach: Cabo San Juan del Guía, where you'll enjoy lunch featuring flavors of the Colombian Caribbean, time for swimming, and relaxation.
-
Afterwards you will continue the walk to the El Zaino entrance, passing through a tropical rainforest inhabited by monkeys, birds, reptiles and various wild species.
-
Upon arriving at the Cañaveral sector, you will take internal transport to the main entrance El Zaino, where the experience ends.
