Information about water:
On your first day of the expedition, it's important to bring at least 1 liter of water. Filtered drinking water will be available at each campsite. Remember to bring your own water bottles to refill at each campsite.

DAY 1 – CIENAGA | NUEVA VENECIA

We will start the tour around 7:30 am, where you will hear the instructions from your guide before starting this unique experience.

We will take a handcrafted motorboat to head towards the stilt villages of Nueva Venecia, communities built on the water that offer a fascinating and unusual way of life.

During the visit, you will learn about its history, culture and organization: you will learn how its spaces such as the school, the church, the police station, the small shops and the recreational areas work, understanding its lifestyle adapted completely to the aquatic environment.

We will also visit the home of a local craftsman, responsible for the manufacture of traditional boats, a fundamental task for the community, as these are essential for their mobility and their main economic activity: fishing.

Bring a 1.5 liter bottle of water for the first day. You must keep the bottle because we have drinking water filters at each campsite. It's free so you can refill your bottle every day.

Accommodation on the first night will be in a rural farm in a bed or camping with mosquito nets depending on availability, accommodation on the second night will be in a hammock in a traditional indigenous house.
