During the tour, you'll visit several campsites built by local families, which are comfortable places to sleep and relax. There you'll find hammocks and beds equipped with mosquito nets, blankets, and pillows.
Transportation from the city of Santa Marta in 4x4 vehicles or Vans driven by experienced drivers, who will take you from the city to the first stop where the walk will begin, located 1 hour from the city.
Access to the Archaeological Park: Entrance to the Bunkuany Archaeological Park, managed by local farmers, is included in the tour price.

Information about water:
On your first day of the expedition, it's important to bring at least 1 liter of water. Filtered drinking water will be available at the campsites. Remember to bring your own bottles to refill at each campsite.

Day 1 Departure from Santa Marta

Your adventure begins between 8:00 and 8:30 am with a 40-minute transfer from Santa Marta to Agua Viva, where you will receive instructions from your guide before starting the hike.

You'll hike 7 km (approx. 2.5 hours) along nature trails to reach La Piedra Donama, a fascinating archaeological site with petroglyphs from the Tayrona culture. Afterward, you'll continue to San Isidro de la Sierra, where you'll enjoy a traditional lunch and a refreshing swim in the river.

At 2:00 pm you will resume the journey on a 6 km (approx. 2h) hike to a farm, where you will spend the night with dinner included and accommodation in a bed or camping with mosquito net, depending on availability.
DAY 2 – Walk towards Bunkuany

After a hearty breakfast, you will begin the exciting and challenging 18-kilometer hike (approximately 6 hours) that will take you through natural landscapes from green farming estates to the important stone terraces of Bunkuany Tayrona, where your guide will reveal the secrets of this fascinating archaeological site.

Lunch at the Bunkuany community restaurant will give you the energy to continue on to Mr. Ziro's organic crops, where he will share his ancestral knowledge of sustainable agriculture while you taste freshly harvested fruits.

Along the way, you'll stop to enjoy the waters of the Piedra River before completing your journey in the indigenous village of Teykú. Here, among the Kogui community, you'll enjoy an authentic dinner and sleep in hammocks inside a traditional home.
DAY 3 – journey to the indigenous village

Your day begins with an authentic breakfast in the indigenous village of Teykú. Once you've finished and are ready, a Kogui guide will immerse you in their fascinating ancestral culture through explanations and hands-on activities. You'll explore this magical indigenous settlement and ascend to a breathtaking viewpoint that offers the last panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada.

Around midday, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Deisy community restaurant, prepared with local ingredients that will make your palate say goodbye to the region.

The adventure culminates with a final hike to Calabazo, where around 2:00 pm you will take the transport back to Santa Marta, closing this transformative experience that will have connected your spirit with nature, the past of the Tayronas and the wisdom of the Kogui indigenous people.

Bring a 1.5 liter bottle of water for the first day. You must keep the bottle because we have drinking water filters at each campsite. It's free so you can refill your bottle every day.

Accommodation on the first night will be in a rural farm in a bed or camping with mosquito nets depending on availability, accommodation on the second night will be in a hammock in a traditional indigenous house.
